Carawine’s Board and management have extensive experience in the exploration, development and financing of mining projects in Australia and overseas.
Mr Burbury practised as a corporate lawyer with a leading Australian law firm prior to entering the mining and exploration industry in 2003. During his career, he has been actively involved in the identification and financing of many Australian and African resources projects. He has held senior management positions and served on the boards of several private and publicly listed companies.
Mr Burbury was a founding director, and is currently the non-executive chairman of Sheffield Resources Ltd.
Mr Burbury was previously Chairman of ASX listed Warwick Resources Limited and is a former director of Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd.
Mr Boyd is a highly experienced geologist with over 25 years of experience in the mining industry. Prior to taking up the Managing Director role at Carawine he was Exploration Manager for Sheffield Resources and before that an executive of Consolidated Minerals Ltd managing exploration at resource development.
Previously worked in senior exploration roles with major gold-mining houses including RGC/Goldfields Limited, Placer Dome Asia Pacific and Barrick Gold Corporation. During this time he was involved in a number of gold discoveries, including the Raleigh and Homestead Underground gold mines in the Eastern Goldfields of WA.
Mr Archer is a geologist with about 30 years of experience in exploration and mining in Australia. He has held senior positions with major Australian mining companies, including RGC Ltd and ten years as a Director of Archer Geological Consulting specialising in project generation, geological mapping and project evaluation.
Mr Archer was a consultant to Atlas Iron Limited and Warwick Resources Limited and was responsible for significant iron ore discoveries for both companies in the Pilbara. He was also involved in the discovery of the Magellan lead mine and the Raleigh and Paradigm gold mines.
Mr Archer was a founding Director, and is currently an executive Director of Sheffield Resources Ltd.
Ms Broughton is a Chartered Accountant (ICAA) with over 20 years experience gained in both public practice and commerce. Ms Broughton commenced her career with Ernst and Young and has since held a range of finance positions in the mining industry.
Mr Cawood is a geologist with over 25 years experience in the mining industry working for a number of Australian and international resources companies, including RGC Ltd, Western Metals, Gindalbie Gold and Teck. He has explored for gold, copper and base metal deposits across a variety of geological settings and was heavily involved in Teck’s successful Carapateena IOCG campaign. Most recently Mr Cawood managed Project Generation and Evaluation for Teck throughout the Asia-Pacific.
